GRAPHIC DESIGNER / MARKETING COORDINATOR Full Time

Ideally based out of O’Neill’s Sydney HQ in Brookvale and with a flexible work from home policy, we are looking for a candidate to join the team in the full-time position of Graphic Designer/Marketing Coordinator.

We foresee this role to be approximately a 70/30 split, with the primary focus being towards graphic design and content management, the balance marketing co-ordination.

Core Responsibilities

• Assisting the Regional Marketing Director to execute seasonal and annual marketing strategies to calendar.
• Build all graphic design assets required across all marketing initiatives, inclusive of print and digital seasonal catalogues, e-Comm support, trade marketing, print and digital advertising campaigns etc.
• Execute social media strategy at direction of Marketing Director.
• Research previous best sellers and upcoming market trends relevant to the market.
• Provide support to team riders and various brand ambassadors.
• Assisting with building briefs and communicating with photographers / filmers about seasonal asset requirements.
• Assist with planning and, on site execution of seasonal photoshoots.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with co-ordination of events including Go-To-Market Meetings.
• Liaise with external stakeholders for creation of print / trade assets.
• Liaise with surf media partners for asset creation / timelines / campaign needs.
• Communication with US / Europe marketing team. Obtaining and organising assets from a DAM.
• Data and file management, organisation of content for internal and external purposes.
• Co-ordinating the seasonal upload of images to internal servers and online sharing platforms.

Required Skillset

• Graphic Design qualification or 2+ years equivalent industry experience.
• Sound knowledge/experience in Photoshop, Illustrator and In Design programs.
• Excellent organisational and time management qualities.
• Interest or active in surf/lifestyle & fashion.
• Apple system proficient. Confident in Google Docs, Excel and Word.
• Strong eye for visual layout and composition.
• Photography knowledge a bonus.

Additional Skills 

Graphic Design

• The ability to follow a creative brief and create visually compelling and on-trend creative assets that suit O’Neill’s marketing applications.
• Strong understanding of how to follow brand guidelines and create assets that maintain O’Neill’s ‘look and feel”.
• Extensive experience preparing artworks for print and digital applications.
• Formal Graphic Design qualification, 2+ years industry experience.
• High software proficiency including Google docs, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite.

      Social Media

• Overall content management. Including planning monthly schedule, writing copy, editing imagery, and scheduling/posting content.
• Communicating with social audience / ambassadors, team riders etc.
• Assisting in the development of SM marketing materials.
• Assist in identifying content that resonates with target market.

    General

• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to be flexible, work autonomously and within in a team, delivering projects on time, with short deadlines.
• A strong work ethic, attention to detail and pro-active approach with a curious nature and desire to learn.
• Problem-solving, organisational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work well in both a team/office environment and autonomously.
• A willingness to travel.
• Background knowledge in surf experience is highly desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Graphic Designer to have influence and work in a team oriented environment. A minimum of 2 years industry experience is preferred, however not essential to fulfilling this role.
